After an early breakfast, transfer to the station for a scenic express train journey to Luang Prabang (07:30 – 09:30). Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel.

Reognized by UNESCO as “the best preserved city in Southeast Asia,” Luang Prabang offers a rich blend of culture, history, and spirituality.

 

After a short rest, visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace, showcasing a remarkable collection of artifacts reflecting Lao heritage. Continue to Wat Sene, the city’s oldest temple, and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, famous for its stunning “Tree of Life” mosaic crafted in colored glass.

Next, explore the Traditional Arts & Ethnology Centre, dedicated to preserving and presenting Laos’ diverse ethnic cultures and traditional lifestyles.

In the late afternoon, climb Mount Phousi to admire panoramic views over the city and witness a beautiful sunset. End the day at the vibrant Night Market, where you can browse handmade textiles and local crafts created by hill tribe communities.

Today, embark on a scenic upstream cruise along the Mekong River, offering breathtaking views of the peaceful countryside.

Your first stop is the sacred Pak Ou Caves, a spiritual site featuring two large caverns filled with thousands of Buddha images left by pilgrims over centuries.

Continue the journey with visits to local villages, including Ban Xang Hai, famous for its traditional rice wine production, and Ban Xiengmene. You will also have the opportunity to climb to Wat Chomphet, where you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views of Luang Prabang from across the river.

In the afternoon, visit Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xieng Lek, small artisan villages known for traditional silk weaving and handmade Saa (mulberry paper) production.

At the waterfalls, enjoy time to swim in the turquoise pools or explore scenic forest trails. You may also visit the Bear Rescue Center, home to rescued Asiatic black bears.

After your visit, transfer to the station for the express train back to Vientiane (13:45 – 15:45). Upon arrival and a short rest, enjoy a gentle walking tour of the capital, including a relaxing sunset along the Mekong Riverside.
